When I thought of best friends, Carl imeediately comes to mind. My high school cross-country teammate. Before cell phones, I would go over his house or he would come over mine. Meanwhile, once we started driving, I recall parking late at night, waiting for him to return from a date when a needed a friend. While I was blessed with several good friends in college as well, Carl and I leaned on each other in times of need. When Carl’s mom passed away, my mom became like a second mother to Carl. Listening to You’re My Best Friend brought all these special memories to the forefront of my mind.
