You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet

The expression “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” comes from a song by Canadian rock band Bachman–Turner Overdrive. The phrase “you ain’t heard nothing yet” first appeared in the title of a 1919 song written by Al Jolson and Gus Kahn with the music created by Bud De Sylva. When I recently read the passage below, high gas prices and record inflation is nothing compared to the 7 tribulations that await the earth.

And the stars of the sky dropped to the earth like a fig tree shedding its unripe fruit out of season when shaken by a strong wind. 14 And the [c]sky rolled up like a scroll and vanished, and every mountain and island was dislodged from its place, Revelation 6:13-14.

When I was a child, there was no cable to distract Americans from reality. Rather, most families tuned into the nightly news at 6 and 11pm. When the Home Box Office expanded your viewing options from 5 or 6 channels depending upon your antenna to nearly 1oo in the 1980’s, ratings on the three major networks began to decline. Subsequently, new casts began to shock viewers with extremes and violence.

Then the kings of the earth and their noblemen and their magnates and their military chiefs and the wealthy and the strong and [everyone, whether] slave or free hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, 16 And they called to the mountains and the rocks, Fall on (before) us and hide us from the face of Him Who sits on the throne and from the [d]deep-seated indignation and wrath of the Lamb, Revelation 6:15-16.

When I read the above passage last week, I was stunned by the details in John’s vision. Unlike catastrophe and disaster films that often overdramatize a specific event, John writes about something that will happen in the future. This contains Armageddon with Independence Day and the Day After Tomorrow. According to John, those that survive will seek higher ground, finding shelter within mountain caves. If you study the Bible enough, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Globing Warming?

The Swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius is credited as the father of Global Warning.  According to Lenntech.com, Svante suggested fossil fuel combustion may result in enhanced global warming in 1896.  However, actual warming and cooling trends throughout history can be traced back to major volcanic eruptions or an absence of these eruptions.  Following the explosion of Mount Saint Helens on May 18th, 1980, experts in the media thought the earth was nearing a second ice age.  Thirty five years later, a lack of major eruptions have steered scientists back in the other direction, clinging to Svante’s presupposition.

God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. – Genesis 1:10

Prior to Noah’s flood, the earth contained one continent, known as Pangea, consistent with Moses’ words in Genesis 1:10.  The initial climate on earth was ideal for dinosaurs, similar to the equator without the rain, Genesis 2:5-6, known as the Open Canopy Theory.  While most scholars claim dinosaurs disappeared after a meteor crashed into the earth, the Bible tells a different stories.  According to Genesis 7:11, a major eruption took place underneath of Pangea, setting into motion modern day tectonic plates which have formed 7 continents from one.  At this moment in time, the Yellowstone Caldera or super volcano underneath modern day Yellowstone National Park erupted for the first time.  Immediately following this event, the atmosphere was transformed causing rain to fall for the very first time.

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. – Genesis 7:11   

These massive eruptions likely led to the first ice age, as the rain which fell in the polar regions gradually began to freeze, forming glaciers at the Arctic and Antarctic Circles.  With the sun blocked by clouds of volcanic ash, the temperature likely fell to their coldest recordings ever.  This is the real version of The Day After Tomorrow, except not as fast, giving Noah and his family time to head south from Turkey for the Middle East.  Although global warming enthusiasts will continue to use propaganda to convince the masses, the average citizen can look out their window, read the thermometer and use common sense to tell when the globe is cooling or warming.

Noah: An Accurate Movie or A Mockery?

From 1999 t0 2002, I spent time researching, visiting and interviewing staff of upscale public golf facilities for Travel Golf Media.  Whether I was reviewing a grand opening, the newest teaching series or latest theory on the game of golf, I approached  each project with an open mind.  Although I hoped to write a positive message, I maintained a high journalistic standard, giving an honest assessment of what I experienced, read and saw.  Subsequently, I made enemies and friends through each review which leads me to Paramount’s 2014 depiction of the biblical account of Noah opening this Friday.

Starring Russell Crowe as Noah and Emma Watson, its apparent that revisionist historians, naturalistic scientists and environmentalists combined to make a mockery of the Bible.  If you read the first 8 chapters of Genesis and view this film, its clear the writers of the script disregarded Deuteronomy 4:2, adding modern theories into ancient texts.  When you consider the introduction of rock people, a righteous man who hates mankind, wanting to kill them and combine this with a “The Day After Tomorrow” mentality, Jews, Christians and historians will leave theaters disappointed.  Unless you enjoy bad humor, most religious people will walk away shaking their heads wondering how Hollywood could miss the point of this classic true story.

The rationale for my critic is based upon real science, proven by archeology and supported by the Bible.

1. Noah lived on earth during the days of Pangaea, Genesis 1:9-10, a giant continent surrounded by oceans.

2. The initial climate on Pangaea in the days of Noah do not contain rain, Genesis 2:5, consistent with the Open Canopy Theory, slowing down the aging process, Genesis 5:1-32, creating an environment for dinosaurs to thrive, explaining why fossils have been found in polar regions.

3. The people in Noah’s time thought he was crazy, since streams watered the earth, Genesis 2:6, making rain unnecessary, as the world was busy indulging in sins of pleasure, Genesis 6:5-7.

4. Thus, the Lord found favor in Noah, choosing him to build an ark, Genesis 6:8-17, using the forests God created in Genesis 1:11-12.

5. Noah spent years following God’s instructions, Genesis 7:5, fervently preparing for the first day of rain.

6. Prior to the atmospheric change, tectonic plates began to shift, creating a series of earthquakes as geysers erupted throughout the continent, Genesis 7:11, marking the end of Pangaea, gradually breaking away into 7 distinct continents, opening areas for rain water to recede.

7. Finally, rain fell from the sky, Genesis 7:12, as flood gates from the new atmosphere led to a global flood.

8. As the temperature changed to our current conditions, water receding in the polar regions froze, establishing the first ice age on earth.

Don’t just take my word on these issues.  Go see Noah if you have the money, read the first 9 chapters of the Bible and research this information, coming to your own conclusion, Matthew 9:12.
