Inspiration Behind Halo:
Songwriters Ryan Tedder and Evan Bogart received inspiration from the 2004 song Shelter by Ray LaMontagne. Both sought to create a modern version for Beyonce. At the time Halo was completed, Beyonce was married to Jay-Z This song was recorded in 3 hours, feeling confident that themes of love and grace were carried out in halo.
