Disciple – The Wait Is Over (Pseudo Video)
Inspiration Behind the Wait is Over:
This song was a mutual collaboration of band members’ own personal experiences of enduring long periods of waiting. The Wait is Over was spawn from reflection on the struggles, weariness, and hope that come with patience. When you don’t get what you want or are forced to endure stretches of living in limbo, faith and patience is tested. Seasons of hardship, brokenness, and moments of quiet anticipation, helped band members express the belief that there is purpose in every waiting period.
Biblical Application:
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord, Psalm 27:13-14.
Exegesis of the Wait is Over:
I can feel it in the thunder rolling,
Lightning crashing
It’s our time, the wait is over
Fires burning, floods are rising
It’s our time, the wait is over
The anticipation of an incoming storm on the horizon. When the rain starts, this wait is over. Lightning strikes caused a forest fire while the heavy rains led to flooding. Learning to endure, function and live within earthly trials.
Sitting in ashes
Were broken with our faces
Downward
Like there’s nothing we are looking forward to
Picking up the pieces after an expected event in life.
We’ve been waiting so long for this moment all our lives
Let it pour out
This is a moment to lead by helping others recover and rebuild.

An opportunity to lead, help and serve.
Hoping and praying in silence
That the blessing of
Praying for answers and direction. Searching for blessings in disguise.

Isn’t the end of what we look forward to
Waiting can be grueling. Making the best of tough times until glimmers of hope appear.

Waiting for the right moment to act. Pouring out your heart and soul to help others.

The sense of anticipation. Perhaps a reference to the apostle in Romans 5:3-5, to view trials as a pure joy.

Signs from God to stop waiting and start acting.
Final Thoughts:
When life is going well, it’s easy to be optimistic. However, when storms come rolling through, one after the other in the form of earthly trials, it’s hard to stay positive. This is where you have to dig down deep with resolve to press on. Waiting is never fun, but it is part of life. Subsequently, if you are forced to wait for an extended period in life, be eager, ready, and willing to act like members of Disciple.
