Whether you attend Bedside Baptist Church or you go through the motions at your local church, too many Christians are slumbering thru another Sabbath. Some will opt to watch their favorite tv evangelist from home. Others will worship the Lord externally, while internally they are spiritually dead inside. Meanwhile, others will have a great worship experience, yet forget everything that happened as soon as they get into their cars.
The reality of Romans 3:9-12 is at the heart of this matter. Regardless of how godly you may appear to others, everyone is a sinner. This doesn’t mean you have the right to sin. Rather, Christians must remember they have an obligation to the Holy Spirit, Romans 8:11-12. The only way to awaken believers from slumbering thru another Sabbath is to make sure sin is not reigning in their mortal bodies. Once you crucify this sin nature, your connection to and with the Holy Spirit is much Clearer.
Christians must come to grips with the fact, there is no perfect church. While each has their strengths, weaknesses are often the focus of gossip or your own personal frustrations. Therefore, you need to give these over to the Lord. In addition, you need to serve your local church by fanning into flame you own spiritual gift or gifts. As your attention draws to serving God, you will be less likely to slumber through another Sunday service. The body of Christ needs your hands and feet to survive so get involved today!
