The Little Things

I have spent more than a third of my life coaching sports.  I spent 10 years coaching high school golf, 3 working with an ultimate frisbee club, 2 years in youth baseball, 1 year  in basketball in Indiana and a season with middle school cross country.  One of my greatest experiences I have had is when I see the little things displayed by my teams.

This evening I found great pleasure in watching my 3 pitchers throw strikes, seeing my fielders catch the ball and then throw the ball to the right base.  After 3 months of practices, games and post games talks, I am finally beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel.  When people begin to do the little things in life, great things follow.

The apostle, Paul talks about the little things in the book of Galatians.  According to Galatians 5:6, “the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”  As gifted as each person is in the body of Christ, without love, we are nothing, 1 Corinthians 13:1-3.  Therefore, instead of theology, methodology or works, all the world needs to see from Christian’s is the little things, which is the love of Jesus.
