Remembering Israel

On Friday, 2 million Muslims are scheduled to march on Jerusalem.  While the media in America is looking at this from a worldly perspective, the biblical ramifications of such a march could be a sign the Christ’s return in imminent.  Maybe the Mayan calender isn’t so far off, yet as Jesus said in Matthew 24, no one will know the day Christ returns.

After 9/11, the hit show West Wing aired a special entitled Isaac and Ishmael.  The purpose of this episode was to revisit the origin of terrorism.  Many strong arguments were brought forward, yet their conclusion was terrorism began in Genesis 16.  Instead of trusting God to provide a child, Sarah panicked, forcing the issue by allowing her husband to have a child with their maidservant Hagar.  Ishmael’s birth resulted in a blessing and a curse.  According to Genesis 16:6-16, God promised Hagar that Ishmael would become the father of the Arab nations, now Muslim.  The consequence of Abram’s and Sarai’s lack of faith has led Muslims to despise Jews, seeking to destroy the nation of Israel.

As Friday approaches, Christians and Jews alike must remember Numbers 22:12. ” Those who bless Israel will be blessed, but those who curse Israel will be cursed.”  In view of this passage, come together in a concert of prayer, lifting up Israel, protecting them from any attacks or harm on Friday.  Up til now, God has blessed America for helping Israel once again become a nation in 1948.  If we turn our backs on Israel now, God may remove His blessing from our great land.  Stand in the gap on behalf of the land of Israel, Ezekiel 22:30, or else we too will be doomed!
